Mission Statement

Laredo Theater Guild International (LTGI) exists as a 501c3 nonprofit community based theater organization presenting a season of quality theatrical productions at Texas A&M International University and Laredo Community College, within their fine performance venues at the Center for the Fine and Performing Arts and at the Guadalupe and Lilia Martinez Foundation Center, respectively.

Laredo Theater Guild International produces a season of plays which include classical and contemporary dramas, comedies, musicals, and single performer shows, selected from among known Broadway, Off-Broadway and Regional Theater works. The primary goal of this endeavor is to provide relevant theatrical entertainment of the highest caliber, while growing and developing the local performer, production, audience, and patron communities.

LTGI was formed in 2009 by conjoining Laredo Musical Theatre International, which was launched in 2001 by original founders Vernon Carroll, Sam Johnson, and Dr. Mary Grace Carroll, and Laredo Theater Guild, which was launched in 2008 by founders Joe Arciniega, Sam Johnson, and Hortense Offerle. The combined organization was able to immediately leverage the artistic, technical, and administrative resources of both organizations, as well as the financing and funding resources toward what was a common goal for both organizations much more efficiently and effectively as one. Joe Arciniega is the Artistic Director of Laredo Theater Guild International, and currently, the President of the Board of Directors is Vernon Carroll.
